Character Design & Illustration
Hello! I'm Elie! Currently a full time Graphic Designer with apparel-focused work for Jakroo since 2016 (currently employed remotely). In 2020 I decided to take my passion for creating seriously after hours- I self-studied character design & illustration fundamentals. I continue my journey as both a designer and illustrator, balancing learning existing techniques while developing my own style. I attend conventions across the USA and recently showcased my work at Doujima in Singapore.
Original Character Design Course:
In late 2025, I partnered with Coloso in making an illustration course. In this course, I shared how we can take a simple subject, and create a character.
In this course, I started with an Apple as the theme, then explored the subject matter in general observation (color scheme, shapes), how is it used in culture (scientific, historic, & lore), then applied beginner art theory to create a full illustration. The link below will take you to the class!
